An accountant received a parrot as a gift from a client, The parrot had a bad attitude and an even worse vocabulary. Every word out of the birds mouth was rude, obnoxious and laced with profanity.

The accountant tried to change the birds attitude by saying only polite words, playing soft music and doing anything possible to try to clean up the parrot’s vocabulary.

After several weeks without success the accountant was at the end of his tether and yelled at the parrot. The parrot yelled back. In frustration, the accountant shook the parrot and the parrot got angrier and ruder. In desperation the accountant shut the parrot in the freezer.

For a few minutes the parrot squawked and kicked and screamed then it suddenly went deathly quiet. The accountant was worried that he killed the parrot and, fearing the worst, opened the freezer door.

The parrot calmly stepped out and said to the accountant: “My dear boy. I believe I may have offended you with my earlier rude language and behaviour. Please accept my deepest apologies for my actions and I can assure you that it won’t happen again.

Stunned by parrot’s change in attitude the accountant was about to ask him why when the bird looked at the accountant and said very softly, “May I ask what the chicken did?”
